DJ and I ended up going to school together in Franklin. In middle school I remember seeing him a few times but never officially meeting him. Flash forward to high school, we meet each other through mutual friends our sophomore year. At that point we were only just acquaintances and rarely saw each other. I always thought DJ was a nice and funny guy. We finally became friends our junior year, but still rarely saw each other. Our group of friends used to spend together before and after school, supported people in choir and band and even went to prom together. Our senior year we became close friends but were dating other people, at that point in time I had feelings for DJ but the timing just never seemed right. Eventually, DJ and I both found ourselves single and getting ready to graduate from high school. By this point we had started hanging out together more through a small group of friends and things started becoming more clear, that we both had feelings for each other. We even had a few friends and teachers tease us, saying we should date! I soon built up the courage to ask him out myself. Having several worries before graduating we decided to hold off and see where things took us after high school.

DJ and I, stayed home while attending college and kept in touch for a whole summer, talking every day. We decided to start dating on September 15, 2013. Only 3 months after graduating from high school LOL.

The years we have been together this far have not always been the easiest. From a few break ups, the loss of my father, college schedules, and work schedules; things have sometimes been chaotic, but we have always found a way to be there for each other.

2023 will mark our first, 10 years together. We have decided what better way to celebrate then making things official!
