The mehndi ceremony will kick off the wedding events! During this event, henna paste is used to apply intricate designs of temporary decorative art to the bride's hands and feet. While the designs usually reflect floral motifs, it's also common to hide her partner's name within the artwork and watch as they try to find it later—a process believed to reflect the amount of patience that will be present in their marriage. Other ladies also get to participate and get mehndi on their hands that will last throughout your stay in Cancun.

Haldi

**After Haldi, we will play Holi, a color-throwing celebration on the beach. If you choose to participate, you may want to plan to change right after the ceremony. The ceremony - Relatives apply turmeric mixed with oil, yogurt, and other herbs to the hands, face, and feet of the bride and the groom with durva/doob grass dipped in the mixture. This mixture is considered sacred as it nourishes the skin, removes dead skin cells and keeps disease and illnesses-causing germs away. And since a wedding is perhaps the most important event in a person's life, the bride and the groom are taken utmost care of. The Haldi applied to the bride and the groom ahead of the wedding ceremony keeps them healthy by guarding them against infections and germs. Moreover, it makes the skin glow naturally. Therefore, Haldi is generously applied before the wedding ceremony for nourishment and beautification purposes.

A Hindu wedding events consists of elaborate rituals that include not only immediate family members but other relatives and friends too. The word sangeet is Sanskrit for "sung together." A sangeet ceremony is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony involving lots of festive dancing and celebratory songs.

Assembly of Baraat (Groom's side)

Baraat is one of the most fun filled traditions in the entire wedding ceremony. It is a procession, which proceeds from the house of the groom, towards the wedding venue. The procession is attended by all the relatives and friends from the groom's side. The groom is seated on a decorated horse for reaching the venue followed by his congregated folks. Amongst all the celebration with songs and dancing, the baraat eventually reaches the marriage spot, where the family members of the bride, awaits them. On the arrival, all the followers of the baraat are greeted by the people from the bride's side. The mother of the bride applies tilak on groom's forehead and performs aarti to ward off any evil.
