Alex and Kelly met about 20 years ago at St. Ignatius in the first grade. For Alex, it was love at first sight. For Kelly, not so much. Alex was locked away in the FRIEND ZONE for what seemed like centuries. Throughout all of grade school and all of high school, there was no escaping the dreaded friend zone. Though many attempts were made, they were to no avail.

Fast forward to summer before junior year of college...THE PLANETS FINALLY ALIGNED. Could this be? Alex could finally glimpse the light at the end of the Friend Zone tunnel, and it was great. Alex and Kelly dated for a glorious 5 and a half years before Alex decided it was time to pop the question.

Alex reached out to their grade school principal for some assistance in his proposal plan. With ring in pocket, Alex entered the classroom where he and Kelly met 20 years prior. At this point, Kelly has her dream job as a St. Ignatius teacher, so the misdirection was somewhat simple. Their old principal informed Kelly she still had some forms that she needed to sign before the end of the year. Kelly was told to meet the principal in the 1st Grade classroom where Alex was anxiously waiting. As "Let's Get Married" by the Bleachers was playing on the speaker Alex brought with him - Kelly, unaware of what was happening, walked in the room. Alex got down on one knee...and their happily ever after began.
