This charming love story begins in November of 2020, when Alex first decided to ask Maddie on a hike! Prior to this, he made sure the two were always together on group projects in the WCU Rec Therapy Program where the two first met.
After this hike, their bond grew from friendship to a committed relationship as they began dating in February of 2021.

Once they graduated from college in May of 2022, they decided to move into a camper while stashing some money away. Maddie brought Simon (pet #1) with them to the camper and Alex and Simon quickly formed a great bond. In October of 2022, the couple decided Simon needed a friend and then came Percy (Pet #2). Alex knew he wanted a man’s best friend, so In January of 2023 that’s when we found Leo (Pet #3). Now, with 2 cats, 1 dog, and 2 humans you would think our family was complete….however in May of 2023 one of Alex’s former clients reached out about a furry friend….named Piper the Pug! (Pet #4) and we fell in love with her instantly. They quickly realized with all of those warm bodies in a camper they needed more space and began looking for their first home. In the midst of all these furry friends and home searching, Alex popped the question in March of 2023 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the most romantic manner.

In July of 2023, they bought their first house and began chipping away at the countless projects and making it a home! They are now all living joyfully in this heartwarming space.
