In 2022, Alex was attending a birthday party for one of her friends from the Clemson MBA program, Arash. What Alex didn't know, is that this invitation was all part of greater plan.

Joey's brother-in-law, Justin and Arash were looking to try to set Alex and Joey up "organically" to see if they could be a good match. There is some debate here as to if others also contributed to the matchmaking.

When Alex attended this party, she had no idea it would change her life forever. To be fair, when she left the party she also didn't know that party would change her life forever.

During the party, Alex decided to start a little debate about whether the Bruce Willis classic, "Die Hard," was a Christmas movie or not. It started quite the debate throughout the party. Joey leaned over to ask what her opinion was of the movie, where she answer that she had never acutally seen the movie with a giggle.

After that party, Joey asked Arash if Alex was single and if he could have her number. They proceeded to go on their last first date ever, both agreeing it was the best first date of their entire adult life!

Through the last 2 years they have traveled, laughed and built beautiful memories to build a solid foundation for their future!
