Where do we begin? Well we met 10 years ago when we were both 15…do we know exactly when we met nope not at all..but hoping for a replay in heaven.

All we know is we must have met while doing kids worship together. Will on the drums and Alex was singing. Will was super shy but always thought how beautiful Alex’s hair was, but never said it. I mean we were told if you were on the worship team you couldn’t date until you were 18 so both of us were little rule followers so of course in Wills eyes that meant he wouldn’t even talk to the girls.

Now Alex, she just saw Will as a friend and onlyyyy a friend. She friend-zoned him so hard. Why? She has no idea cause now she thinks he’s the finest man to ever live as well as a man with incredible character.

They had played worship together for many years but in 2021 they started to hang out together at young adults. They just clicked. Alex felt so safe and at home when they were together. She knew that he liked her, but their lives were about to change. Alex was moving to Houston and they may never see each other again. Will would text her every now and then but that was it.

Then in 2023 Alex moved back to DFW and Will saw her perform at Purim. Alex saw that he posted her on his story and in her mind he was in love with her.

Will had reached out a few times since the performance and she thought Will was pursing her! So time to friend zone again as she didn’t want to lead him on. In November Alex and some of her friends went to Friendsgiving at young adults before heading to Christmas rehearsal. Will was there and saw her but said hi to her friend Jordan and did not say a word to Alex. Okay Will is that the game we are playing 😝

Then a week later Jordan and Alex were hanging out again she gets a text from Will

“Heyyo so I know i briefly saw you at young adults last week. How’s it goin? I wanted to ask and see if you’d happen to be available to help sing at the church I help out with this Sunday. It’s The Open Door Church in Irving. We’re doing for acoustic set this week and we just looking for one more female vocalist.”

Alex turned to Jordan and said he’s just asking cause he likes me! Jordan said Well why don’t you just go? You haven’t led worship in a while and you can just tell him no if he asks you out on a date. So Alex said she could come.

Well Saturday rolls around and Alex is hanging with her buddy Anna and telling her about the next day and how Will likes her etc and Anna goes mmmmm Alex I think you like him. Which made Alex think a lot that night.

The next day she goes to The Open Door Church to find Will the most attractive man she’s ever seen. Had to try and impress him since she’s friend zoned him so long.

Her in ears got caught in her hair. “Will look at this can you believe it??” He comes over and very gently took it out and said how beautiful it was.

“He’s in love with me” Alex thought

Alex texted him later to make sure he knew how wonderful it was to be there that day. And she thought for sure he was going to ask her to lunch soon.

Well he did! He asked her to brunch at Cracker Barrel. But in his mind it was more of a pastoral hang out to see how she was doing. In her brain it was a date…Alex asked Will what’s the dream for him. And he said I’m ready to get married. Welp alrighty then just jumping right in there. He asked to pray with her and he grabbed her hand off of her face to hold it and he prayed that he would be able to walk alongside me. But ended the prayer with “my sister Alex”

One of the most confusing interactions!

Well that week, Alex was on the hunt to find a Joseph for a Christmas Eve musical. So she asked Will and that is when the flirting began.

We had a phone call and it flew by so Will asked to meet up with her at tanger outlets before her rehearsal. Alex was not near the tanger outlets but she quickly turned around to make it. Time flew once again and he treated her so wonderfully and it definitely felt like a date, but didn’t know for sure….

Well, Will texted Alex how wonderful of a time he had and we should do it again.

And that’s where Lindsey takes Alex’s phone and says “I had such a wonderful time. I hope to go on another date soon.

Will was so excited and so he made sure to have an official date that Saturday.

The rest is history.
