Tyler and Alex took the modern day approach when finding one another. They both remember the exact night they matched with one another on Tinder and often re-tell others the story about the night they matched.

The pair talked through the app for a short period of time before transitioning to texting and planning their first date.

When planning their first meeting, Tyler and Alex discussed different options before settling on taking a unique approach by going antique shopping at Minneapolis' Hunt & Gather Antique Store.

However, when getting ready for their first date, Alex was running into challenges with grabbing dog food for her two pups at the time. With quick thinking, Tyler offered coming along to the store with Alex.

Alex drove to Tyler's then home to pick him up and they headed to Menards to find dog food before finishing the afternoon at Hunt & Gather.

The second date is also an integral part in the couple's story. Tyler was in the process of moving from a house with roommates to his own apartment. Due to this, Tyler and Alex's dates revolved around casual shopping to find furniture and must-haves for living on his own.

The second date involved spending almost 8 hours together, including multiple trips to various home goods stores before finishing off the night at their favorite Jucy-Lucy joint, The Nook. The couple spent the night enjoying one another's company and also participated in a night of trivia in the basement of The Nook.

Alex, being the die-hard romantic that she is, decided that after two weeks of dates she was ready to make it official. The couple were preparing to go to their first of many Twins Baseball games together, so Alex got an idea. She bought a baseball, and a sharpie and asked the important question through a grand gesture.

Tyler said yes and the pair became an official couple on 8/6/2023.

From the first date on, the pair were busy planning their lives together. They moved in together, spent holidays with their families together, and started mapping out what they wanted their future to look like.

Tyler made the decision to propose at the very place they had their first date.

Tyler popped the question in the basement of Hunt & Gather through a personal memento from the very first date.

11/23/2024, the couple became engaged. They celebrated the day with attending the Christmas market and having dinner at their favorite fancy restaurant, Porzana.

The couple has spent their months since getting engaged planning their move to Milwaukee to be closer to family. They are so excited to start this new chapter and to get married with their closest friends and family!
