The Meeting

Should we tell the WHOLE thing? Probably not, Alex's boss and Brian's mom are reading this at some point.

What began as a friends trip for two large groups became a love story with quite a meeting.

Brian was on his 12th annual friend float trip & Alex's group traded in their annual friend horse ride event for bathing suits and sunscreen (and adult beverages, however, those were always on the horse ride as well).

With luck of the draw of one outgoing sister-in-law of Brian's and an “are any girls on that raft single” yelled, Alex dove into the river to meet this guy. Katie had no idea she had just hooked Brian a future wife.

Dating

At the time, Alex lived in Kentucky but traveled the whole Midwest for her job.... St. Louis quickly became the preferred airport to fly out of.

After a year of long distance, Brian, Alex, & Booker were all under one roof in Ballwin, MO. Let it be known: if you can renovate a home together, you can tackle it all.

Brian & Alex have shared many adventures together; A few hospital trips, two surgeries, lazy nights at home, domestic & international travel, from the mountains to the beach and everything in between.

The Proposal

“The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports.” May 4th, Derby Day! Although Brian and Alex were not celebrating in the Bluegrass, they made it to Fairmount park. Brian carried the ring in a sandwich baggie, Alex asked someone to take their picture and he knew it was his perfect moment. Brian thinks that’s the only time he’s ever witnessed her speechless…

Schroeders In Scotland

What’s more romantic than getting married whilst wearing a kilt, on the side of a mountain next to a castle?!?

We hadn’t picked a destination or a “when” but once we got the opportunity to potentially attend the British Open Golf Tournament, we said “want to get married in Scotland?”

It was the most perfect day; it isn't often sunny in the Highlands, but we had the best, relaxed, and sunshine day. What started at Ballachulish Hotel (we had fun learning how to pronounce that one) and ended at Kilchurn Castle complete with hairy coo's and a bag piper named Spud, Alex and Brian tied the knot and included an ancient Scottish tradition called Handfasting.
