They met on the dark dancefloor of a London venue surrounded by skinny jeans and eyeliner; it was emo night at the O2 Academy.

Alex caught Julia's eye from across the pit and she mentioned to her friends that she thought he was cute, so the only logical reaction was pushing Julia into him whilst he was headbanging. He complimented her outfit and offered to buy her a drink, which she gladly accepted (being a poor student). They created their first memories of each other and arranged a date for the following week.

To Alex’s disappointment, she cancelled last minute before ghosting him.

Julia wasn’t looking for anything serious with the imminent move back to the US approaching. However, she couldn’t get him out of her mind and soon reached out to claim him as her own (or as Alex likes to say, she came crawling back).

They shared a blissful few months together before Julia was offered a job in Portland, back in the Land of the Eagle. They had to make a decision. Remove the bandaid and save their feelings, or embark on one of the most difficult journeys they would ever have to face: a long distance relationship.

With determination, they powered through. Alex showed Julia lots of British TV, Julia introduced Alex to the rave scene, and they shared their first “I love you” in a hot tub in Wales. Since then, they have had many ups an downs, their dog, Pie, contributing to both. They know what it feels like to be together, as well as apart, and are thankful that they can now spend the rest of their lives building on those experiences and appreciating the time they have side by side.

As the wedding approaches, we invite all of our loved ones from across the globe to come and celebrate our achievements, our determination, and our love for each other. We look forward to seeing you all!
