It all began in Hirakata, Japan.

It was orientation night at Seminar House 4 where Alex and Clara would stay for their 6 month study abroad program. All the students gathered in the dining room to introduce themselves. Both noticed one another when it was their turn to speak. Clara took no time in approaching Alex after the meeting, complimenting his TOTORRO shirt. And so it began!

Like any good rom-com, they embodied the "will they/won't they" trope - becoming good friends while flirting aggressively every step of the way. After some painfully obvious back and forth, they made things official in the Spring.

Unfortunately, their time in Japan was short, with only 3 months remaining in the semester. They knew it would be difficult to continue a relationship once Alex returned to California and Clara to Connecticut, so they agreed to end things at the program's conclusion. However, something inside of them knew how special this bond was.

On separate coasts, they remained in close contact. Still convinced they were both "just friends," they decided it wise to commit to one another under the guise of an "artistic endeavor."

One of the first things they found in common was their love of music, so it only seemed natural to form a band together, right? Thus, GALAXY FINGERS was born!

They created music cross country while Clara finished her senior year at Loyola Maryland, and Alex began his post-college life in San Diego. Once Clara graduated in Spring 2018, they moved out to LA in the Fall. They declared it was to pursue their collective dream of "making it," but as we know today, that's only half true.

After being reunited for three months, it became apparent that the only dream they had in mind was "making it" as a couple once again.

Six years later, they are happy and grateful there would be no "goodbye" this time.
