Some of our favourite hikes that you can do from St. John's:
One of our favourite bars in St. John's and conveniently located in the heart of downtown. With that said, it's not the easiest to find as it's in an alleyway and rumour has it that it's haunted. Anyway, we highly recommend the fish & chips!
Take in the beautiful sights of St. John's and the harbour from this world-famous heritage site. Easy to get to from downtown (5-minute drive or 40-minute walk) and can be combined with visits to the Johnson Geo Centre and/or Quidi Vidi.
St. John's most famous brewery is a great place to grab a pint by the water. We highly recommend hiking (or driving) over to see Signal Hill and then continuing onwards to here. As a bonus, they regularly have fantastic live music!
Big fan of history and/or art? The Rooms is a MASSIVE museum and art gallery full of local treasures. If you're going to go here, plan on spending a few hours because there's plenty to see. Oh, and it's a quick walk (10-20 minutes) from all of the downtown hotels.
Never tried axe throwing before? Tried it before and want to throw sharp metal at wood again? Head over to one of Alex's favourite spots in St. John's and have a round! Always a great selection of local craft beers on tap and a short 20-minute walk from downtown.
Part gelato shop, part coffee house. This is one of Janelle's favourite places in St. John's to grab a (non-alcoholic) drink and a treat. And it's only a 10-minute walk up the road from the Alt Hotel!
