Their first "date" was at a drag show at an arcade. Alex did not know it was a date and proceeded to crush Alana (and her fingers) at air hockey.

After spending the pandemic unexpectedly living together, Alana and Alex discovered that they enjoyed each other's company immensely.

Alana asked Alex to marry her while wearing a onesie, after watching 10 Things I Hate About You on vhs at a cabin in Maine. Despite his surprise, he said yes.

Unbeknownst to each other, both had been planning on proposing, and each had purchased rings (both with the help of officiant Kristina, who is very good at secret keeping)!

The following fall, Alex returned the ask to Alana during their stay in Provincetown for the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival, Alana's favorite playwright. Though perhaps she was less surprised, she also said yes.

Through recovery, community, and a shared love of cats, Alana and Alex have built a relationship, one day at a time.
