In June 2022, Adrian was asked to leave Oregon temporarily and assist at one of Amazon’s delivery stations in Utah. By fate—or perhaps a little serendipity—it happened to be the very location where Alexa worked. She was in customer service, her desk stationed just outside the main offices. Throughout the day, Adrian would pass through those offices countless times, but one particular moment changed everything.

On his way in, he noticed her name tag and couldn’t resist asking with a playful smile, “Is that really your name? You’re Alexa… from Amazon?” She laughed and assured him it was no joke—she had to deal with that line all the time. What started as a simple exchange turned into longer conversations, easy laughter, and an undeniable connection.

Before long, Adrian invited Alexa to the place he was staying during his temporary assignment. But she hesitated—her last “date” had been a disaster, an experience that left her wary (a story for another time). Still, something about Adrian felt different.

Their first official date was at Cupbop, chosen by Alexa because Adrian wanted to try something local, something he had never tried before. In hindsight, noodles were a terrible choice — hardly the most graceful food for a first date. It’s been a running joke between them ever since. They spent countless hours together in Adrian’s hotel room, learning about each other, sharing stories, and secretly watching people in the pool.

Not long after, Adrian was given the opportunity to move to Utah permanently. It was a big decision, and the two of them had long, heartfelt conversations about what it would mean. Though he had only recently returned home to Oregon, Adrian chose to take the leap again—this time, for something more than just a job.

He rented an apartment in South Jordan, and a year later, they bought a townhome in Magna, where Alexa moved in. After another year, they decided to save for a house and moved in with Alexa’s parents, spending two years planning their future together.

During that time, in December 2023, they took a family trip to New York—where, in the dazzling lights of Times Square, Adrian got down on one knee and asked Alexa to be his forever. She said yes.

A few months later, they found the perfect lot to build their dream home. In November 2024, they finally moved in—ready to start the next beautiful chapter of their love story.
