It all started at the end of 2019 with a swipe on Tinder — though, to be fair, Alexa wasn’t totally sure how Tinder worked. In true rookie fashion, she messaged everyone, and somehow that bold strategy led her straight to Dan.

After chatting for a bit, we decided to meet for dinner. From the moment we sat down, the conversation just flowed — so much that even after the bill was paid and the chairs were being stacked on the tables, hinting the resturant was close to closing time, we stayed talking for hours. That night, something just clicked.

From there, life kept rolling. We dated through the pandemic, Alexa’s nursing school (and her graduating during the pandemic!), moved in together, and shared countless adventures big and small — from cozy nights in to spontaneous weekend trips.

Then, in true “us” fashion, our next chapter started in the most fall way possible. Every year, we go apple and pumpkin picking — it’s Alexa’s favorite tradition — and even when the weather turned into a full-on rainstorm, we didn’t let it stop us. Soaked, muddy, and laughing, Dan got down on one knee among the apple trees and asked Alexa to marry him.

Now, we can’t wait to celebrate our forever surrounded by the people who’ve cheered us on through it all!
