There are a few options. We have mostly flown TAP (Portugal's airline). However, there are other options, such as Delta.

About 6 hours to Lisbon from NYC. About 7-8 hours from Lisbon to NYC, depending on the wind patterns. So, wear your compression socks!

The flight is going to be your most expensive cost. In the summer time, if you can get a round trip (nonstop) flight to Lisbon for less than $1,000 per person, go for it! Anything less than $800, do not even hesitate! Use apps like Hopper to help keep track of the cost of the flights.

If you want like to explore the country, renting a car is the recommended option. Portugal drives on the same side of the road as the USA. The traffic signs are relatively easy to understand (always study traffic signs regardless). GPS tells you exactly where to go. Billy and I have driven in Portugal each time we have visited without issue.

Depends on where you rent from. We have rented both on the expensive side and cheap side. We rented cheaply last time with the company SIXT. Be mindful to rent an AUTOMATIC car as most of their rentals are manual cars. The rental car fee is reasonable/inexpensive. However, gas is very expensive in Portugal.

We do not recommend it as we will be providing transportation to and from the hotel to our planned events. With how the Portuguese eat and drink, you will not be safe to drive. There is also not many hotel options close to the venue.

When we spoke to the hotel sales representative, she quoted us 150 euro per room per night (with the current conversion rate of 1.04 it equates to about $155). This fee includes taxes, resort fees, and a 15% discount for the room block. Rates may change with inflation, which should not exceed more than 5ish%. Your hotel booking includes access to all the resort amenities (ie hotel gym, indoor and outdoor pools) as well as a complimentary breakfast every morning. You also have the option on the weekend to pay an additional fee to have brunch at the hotel.
