Alexa and Zac first met during a social bowling league as they were on the same team. When the season started, the competitive side came out which starting the friendly trash talking when a strike happened or when a frame was left open. After a while, the competitiveness turned to subtle flirting.
As time went on, they've spent more time together outside of the bowling league. Meeting up before going to OU games either at Campus Corner or at the tailgate spot off Lindsay and Elm. Going to Mooney's to have a couple drinks while listening to the live bands. Watching holiday parades. They were inseparable after a while.
Over time, their feelings for each other grew to a love that couldnt be broken. They've been tested over the last two years but together their love for each other is stronger than ever.
One day, Zac randomly joked saying if he was going to propose, he'd propose with a ring pop and if Alexa was to say yes, they'd then go get the ring that she would like instead of Zac getting the wrong ring style. This would also have the added benefit of Alexa not seeing a proposal coming when it would happen.
Zac knew he wanted to proposed but how? Yes, the plan was to propose with a ring pop at Christmas.
The weekend before Christmas, Alexa joined Zac and the family to go up to Nebraska for Zac's extended families' Christmas. While at Zac's Aunt Pat's house, he was surprised to be given his grandmother's ring.
On Christmas Eve, Alexa and Zac had their Christmas together. After opening the gifts, Zac "remembered another gift" for Alexa. He went into the computer room and came back with his hands behind his back saying he didn't remember to wrap it.
Zac walked up to Alexa and asked "left or right?" Alexa responded with "I'm right-handed so right". With that, Zac got down on one knee and presented his grandmother's ring while asking Alexa to marry him. As you can guess, Alexa said Yes!
After the initial shock, hugs and kisses, Zac joking said "it's a good thing you said yes, otherwise I'd have to use the backup ring" while revealing the ring pop in his left hand.
