Charlie and Alexa first met during graduate school. He was the weird dude with the frisbee. She was quiet and made doodles of foxes. They barely interacted.

That is until they were placed at the same site for their first teaching assignment. As a friendship grew, Charlie and Alexa found themselves making excuses to spend more time together. He would walk with her back to her car and she would get to school early to work in the library with him. After they spent a month teaching abroad (Alexa in Singapore and Charlie in Denmark) they both realized how much they missed the other person and how much they had come to mean to each other.

Their friendship continued to grow and the day after graduation Alexa confronted Charlie with her feelings. Charlie recognized that his feelings mirrored hers, and thus began the first phase of their relationship: long distance. For the next two years, Alexa and Charlie supported one another through the trials and tribulations of the beginnings of their teaching careers while living in separate cities.

When Charlie (finally!) got a job in Santa Barbara, they moved in together. Five months later he proposed. Now you're all caught up!
