Alexa & Travis grew up in the same neighborhood, attending the same Preschool before Alexa and her family moved to the neighboring town, where the two went to different elementary, middle and high schools. At some time during late high school, Alexa found Travis on Facebook because she recalled his name from their early childhood. Her mom confirmed the two went to preschool together and often had "playdates" (neither of them remember these so called playdates - but there are pictures to prove it!). Travis will say Alexa was trying to make a move on him, and Alexa will disagree saying she was just making conversation.

A few years went by before the two reconnected over Facebook again. This time, it was Travis who "made the first move." And Travis who made the second move, and third, and so on...

After countless texting conversations, the two finally met face to face (or "re met"), during the summer before their sophomore years in college. They began officially dating in October, 2011.

Alexa went to Michigan State University and Travis played basketball at Oakland University - about an hour drive from each other. Their weekends consisted of trading off who drove to see who. Often times Alexa would make two trips to Oakland in one week to attend all his home basketball games. The two quickly gelled with each others friends, who soon all became one close knit group.

Alexa and Travis finished school in the spring of 2014, and moved to Lyon, France in August 2014 for Travis' first professional basketball career. In December 2014 they moved back to the United States where Travis finished the year playing for the Houston Rockets NBA D-League team.

In October 2015 they moved to Klaipeda, Lithuania for a second season of pro ball. They spent an entire 8+ months there before returning home in June 2016.

On August 9th, 2016, Travis took Alexa up to Traverse City, MI for a midweek getaway. There, he proposed to her with a beautiful diamond ring while wine tasting at the Chateau Chantal winery. Tears were flowing, and many celebratory drinks were had. Both families knew of the event that was about to take place and patiently waited a phone call from the newly engaged couple. Alexa was completely shocked!

During October 2016 Travis took a job in Recanati, Italy. Alexa has been traveling back and forth this season to continue wedding planning, but also because she was unable to get a long stay visa because the two aren't married - something to be resolved for future years after the two tie the knot!

On August 11th, 2017 Alexa and Travis will say "I do" in Park City, Utah in front of close friends and family.
