A long haired boy walked into a bar...

Justin and I both went to WKU where we had a ton of mutual friends and probably hung out more than we realized before we knew each other. Justin, commonly known as Mazzoni, was the wild guy on campus. Known for throwing big parties, getting banned from bars, and starting fights with NFL football players. Besides his wild side, he did have a sweet side that I quickly fell in love with!

So, the story goes, a long haired boy walked into a bar, and me being who I am immediately thought I should ask him to take a picture with my friends and me.

At the time, I was obsessed with this really ridiculous show called Portlandia and was constantly quoting it. Specifically, "put a bird on it!" I was hanging out with some friends at one of the local bars (the one Justin is now banned from) and Justin and I happened to cross paths again due to having the same friends. I distinctly remember saying "put a bird on it" all night, and at one point Justin asked, "why does this woman keep saying put a bird on it?" I'm sure most of you can hear exactly how he said that too.

A few days later Justin was working at one of the other local WKU bars (not the one he's banned from) as a bouncer. I thought, now is my chance to ask him for his number! I walked up and introduced myself as the woman who kept saying "put a bird on it" and asked him for his number. We began texting pretty consistently and went on a few dates but told our friends it was nothing serious and that I would be moving back to Louisville in a few weeks after graduation.

The time came for me to move back. My apartment was pretty much empty and my car was packed. Justin and I were sitting in my empty room and I said, "well... want to come back to Louisville with me?" To which he replied, "sure let me call my boss and quit my job." We've pretty much been together ever since, from me living with my parents, to my first apartment alone in Louisville while he was still in school, to now in our apartment together with our two dogs.

Oh, I forgot to mention...my dad told me to never bring home a boy with a man bun. Shocking that I didn't listen, right? This time it actually worked out for me to not listen to him.

I'm so lucky Justin said yes to moving back to Lousiville with me that day! We have had quite the journey together since 2017 and I can't wait to see what happens next. We are so excited to celebrate this day with all of you and love each one of you very much!
