Her Perspective:

It was a Saturday night after a football win from the Aggie’s! I had invited my friend Alex to watch the new Elvis movie that night, however, she was on her way to Harry's (country dance hall) and asked me to come along instead! Little did I know this one decision would lead me to my future husband! After meeting Duncan that night I remember thinking he was very tall, attractive, and so kind!!! I knew he was out of my league, but I ended up following him on instagram anyway:) A week later he direct messaged me when I was on a women’s retreat for my org, asking if I could be his date to midnight yell! I didn’t see it until 4 hours later, but replied just in time to go! After that night I knew Duncan was something special!

A week later we went on our first date to CAVA and for those who know me, that is the way to my heart!! We continued going on dates and a month later Duncan asked my dad for permission to date me!

That same night I had told my friend Jesica that we had to take a picture to document my last night possibly ever being single (which It was)! That next day Duncan asked me to be his girlfriend at Napa Flatts & 10 months later he got on one knee and asked me to marry him❤️

Praise Jesus for orchestrating our love story at His perfect timing!

His perspective:

It all began with a Saturday of Aggie football. After a glorious win over Sam Houston State, my friend Matthew and I decided to stop by a post game tailgate. At the tailgate, we were invited by a couple of his friends to go to Hurricane Harry’s dancing hall with a group later that night. Luckily, one of these friends was able to convince this random girl named Alexa to go with her to Harry’s instead of watching the Elvis movie (Praise God!!!). I remember my first dance with Alexa and being blown away by her but not thinking much of it because she was so far out of my league. Later that night, however, I noticed an Instagram notification with a follow request from the Alexa Membreño herself!

Fast forward one week, I received two last minute tickets to be on the field during midnight yell. I knew I wanted to invite Alexa to be my date on the field but unfortunately, I did not have her phone number. So, I did the unthinkable…. I decided to direct message her on Instagram... Finally, after four hours of waiting I received a response that she would love to go! (I discovered later that I sent this message during her women’s organization retreat, and it was read by everyone.). After getting to know Alexa better at midnight yell I knew that she was somebody that I wanted to pursue. The next couple of weeks I found every possible excuse to hang out with her. Then, nearly a month after meeting her at Harry’s, I asked Alexa to be my girlfriend over a dinner at Napa Flats!

I am so blessed to be best friends with Alexa. I have no other way to explain the way that things fell into place with her except through the Lord’s sovereign hand in our lives. This past year has been so amazing, and we are so excited for May 27th!
