Our story is unlike any, and started in a parking lot one summer day in 2018. As we were both frantically looking for parking, Alexa forgot to check her rear view mirrors and backed into Jovi’s truck. Little did we know, we were attending the same surprise birthday party; a party for Alexa’s cousin and Jovi’s close friend. Although Jovi made multiple attempts to take Alexa out for coffee (to talk through insurance claims, obviously), Alexa refused. Fate would have to wait a little longer.

Fast forward to 2021, Jovi decided to give it another shot. Alexa, still skeptical about the insurance claims, obliged to a date. And what a date it was. From the seas of the Pacific Ocean, to the mountains of Ramona, Jovi and Alexa flew a single engine aircraft to solidify fate. Big shoutout to Mayra and Alex for trusting “a random guy” to fly their oldest daughter around Southern California!

After dating for 5 months, Jovi had to move to Denver, Colorado for his work. Although the distance was tough, the love we had for each other proved stronger than the miles between us. Alexa eventually moved to Denver towards the end of 2022. Again, huge props to Mayra and Alex for trusting “not a random guy anymore but a still suspicious guy” to take care of their daughter.

In the Summer of 2024, we took new jobs in Los Angeles and have been living there ever since. While Jovi never fixed the dent in his truck from the initial accident, it always served as a reminder that fate, and love, work in mysterious ways.
