We met in 2021 at the opening retreat for the Leadership Institute of Acadiana’s “Leadership Lafayette” program (Class XXXIV, Best Class Ever).

We both joined the program looking to invest in ourselves and our growth, hoping to expand our knowledge of Lafayette’s history and get more immersed into the community. Although we were both convinced we wouldn’t go into the program in “that” headspace, over time (and with subtle nudges from family and friends) we became friends and could easily have long winded conversations about anything and everything.

At a party Noah hosted in April 2021, we realized something crazy — we were actually backyard neighbors! This made spending time together much easier and we continued to deepen our friendship. We went to leadership class days monthly, championing each other’s successes and supporting each other’s growth along the way.

One day, after a Downtown disability tour, lead by our friend Liam Doyle, we ended up sealing the deal over Tsubaki, wine, and an episode or two of the series “YOU” (Alexa actually made the first move). From there, we spent time intentionally investing in our relationship, continuing to be each other’s biggest supporters, and growing together alongside our daughter Adelaide, and our motley crew of pups: Maddie, Conor, Isaac and Maggie.
