Our Wedding

First Meeting: We met in February 2023 after matching on Hinge. The prompt which Chris had to answer to first speak with Alexa was "What would be your ideal date" with three options: 1) Coffee &amp; Workout, 2) Drink &amp; Comedy Show and 3) Drink and more drinks. Chris chose #1! A few days later we had our first date at a 1 Rebel workout class in Angel, London. We met for coffee 40 minutes before class. Nursing an ever so slight hangover, Chris devoured a full english breakfast before we then proceeded to go to an intense sprinting/HIIT class. Not only did Chris manage to keep it down, but his performance was deemed acceptable by Alexa's personal training standards! :) First Trip: In June 2023 We went on their first trip together to the Costa Brava, Spain. Chris's family has been in the area for 40 years. Chris's sister Katie joined us for a week full of sun, pool, laughter, hikes, games of padel and wonderful Mediterranean meals. Later that year, we went back to Spain a number of times, as well as a trip to Sardinia and finished the year off with our first trip to Chicago together where Chris met Alexa's family! Colleen showed Chris all the best Christmas lights Chicagoland has to offer, while Paul and Kavita took him on his first Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza experience. Year two of their relationship started with both Alexa and her brother Mark joining the Nobbs family on their annual trip to the Austrian mountains. Linda and Richard, Chris's parents, have loved watching the family grow and sharing their family traditions. Not long after returning from the mountains, the Nobbs family suffered an unexpected tragedy, with the loss of Patrick, Chris's brother. Together, we have navigated these tough times and grown together not just as a couple, but as a team. We have bonded over our love of fitness, hiking, travel and are so excited to continue on with these hobbies together in the future.

To get to the wedding, you will either fly into Barcelona Airport (US Flights) or Girona Airport (Ryan Air European Flights). From the airports, you'll make your way to the Costa Brava, which means Wild Coast in Spanish. It is called this for the rocky cliffs and green topography. The wedding is being held in S'Agaro, with drinks in Playa d' Aro the night before. To get to Playa d'Aro, see below:Barcelona to Playa d'Aro - you can take a bus (Moventis), rent a car or take a cab. It is about 1 hour and a half to get there. Girona to Playa d'Aro - you can take a shuttle/taxi or rent a car. It takes 30-40 minutes to get there.

The Costa Brava is truly one of the most beautiful and spectacular coastlines in the world. If you are able to add on some extra days to your trip, we highly recommend renting a car and visiting some of the stunning beaches and picturesque towns which can be found the length of the coast. The Costa Brava gets it's name from the word Brava which translates to English as wild, so it is the "Wild Coast". It is called this as it is where the Pyrenees mountains (which separate Spain from France) hit the Mediterranean sea, resulting in dramatic cliffs, small bays and coves (Calas) and landscapes of rugged coastline stretching for about 100 miles (150kms). Many of the towns and villages date back hundreds, if not thousands of years. Countless famous people have been known to spend time on the Costa Brava, including: Frank Sinatra &amp; Eva Gardner who spent summers at the Hotel Gavina in S'Agaro (opposite the wedding venue), Salvador Dali who had a summer house in Cadaques and Pablo Picasso, amongst many others. Below are some of our top recommendations but there are so many places of interest it is hard to chose a final list. Places worth visiting within approx. 1.5 hour drive from Playa d'Aro* Cadaques - a gorgeous white washed village set on the coast in the Cap de Creus National Park (the Eastern most point on the Iberian peninsular).* Figueres - Salvador Dali's hometown and the location of a museum in his honor.* Montserrat Monastery &amp; Mountain - considered a highly spiritual mountain by the local Catalans. At the top is a monestary with views overlooking up to 100kms away.* Barcelona - the world famous capital of Catalunya, surrounded by mountains on 3 sides and the Mediterranean sea on the other. Countless museums, restaurants, tourist sites and so much more. Definitely worth spending a few days there!

Costa Brava is known for its amazing coastal walks. You can walk from Playa d'Aro to S'Agaro and walk along the Cami de Ronda. Its gorgeous and takes about an hour and a half. You could then taxi back.

A 20 min walk away from Playa d'Aro there is another amazing beach, which is worth checking out, nestled between two cliffs.

One of the most historic sites in Spain, Girona lies in northeast Catalonia, just 99 km (62 mi) from Barcelona. Founded by Romans, the city later was taken over by Moors and Franks before finally falling under the rule of Barcelona.&nbsp;Influenced by different cultures and religions, the city beckons visitors with beautiful architecture. The Old and New Town offer many opportunities to pleasurably get lost and observe local life and culture.
