The first time Alex and Andrew met Alex doesn't remember. They were at a mutual friend's Halloween Party in 2018 and the friend said to Andrew "This is Alex." Andrew (expecting a guy) turned to dab up Alex, but to his surprise was actually a "VERY pretty girl". Andrew turned away and didn't know what to do. Luckily, it was so loud and busy that Alex didn't even know any of this had happened. Fast forward to June of 2019, when at the same mutual friend's apartment, Alex and Andrew made a formal introduction that they were both aware of. While Alex was fully convinced that Andrew was a brunette, he was fully convinced she was dating someone. Neither was true.

8 months later at Alex’s 22nd birthday celebration, Andrew bust out his magic card tricks in an attempt to flirt with Alex. She was clearly impressed, though we’re still unsure if that was because of the magic or the vodka, but either way she was definitely smitten, as was he.

As they began to spend more time together it was clear they had a connection. Then came covid. But not even a pandemic could stop their love from blossoming. Their first official date on March 22nd, 2020, was a romantic, socially-distanced walk around Alex’s neighborhood. They continued their courtship with facetime dates and socially distanced get togethers (or so they said, wink wink!) until April 27th, 2020 on a facetime call, when Andrew asked/told Alex she was his girlfriend by saying “I have this sweatshirt. The only person I'd let wear it is my girlfriend, so I'd let you wear this sweatshirt." Quite the wordsmith, that Andrew.

As a couple they learned that they love to watch shows together, laugh, eat Italian food, take walks with Marlo (even though she clearly favors Andrew), dance without music (especially at the beach), and go on adventures. They each found their soulmate in the other, of that there is no doubt.

In January 2023, after about 3 years of dating (and Alex dropping hints that she would definitely say yes), Andrew decided to talk to Alex's parents about them getting engaged. He wanted it to be perfect, so he practiced what he was going to say while on a walk with Marlo, but she didn't have any pointers, so he mustered up the courage to ask Jimmy and Susan for their blessing. Jimmy quickly responded, “yes take her”. And after much planning, coordinating dates, and an awesome 3D design of the proposal layout by Andrew, he pulled together the most beautiful proposal Alex could have hoped for. On June 30th, 2023, they went on a date to some of their favorite "photo op" spots (Alex always with her tripod handy) and took loads of pictures, until they ended up at Alex’s ultimate date spot, the beach. As they walked on the beach, Andrew handed Alex a beautifully written note and as she read, Andrew got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Up ahead was a trail of candles in the sand leading to a sign saying “marry me”. Of course she said yes and now it’s time for the biggest party of their lives!
