Nick and Alexandra first realized their affection for one another in the spring of Nick's firstie year at West Point. They were both unsure of where things were headed with Nick moving to Arizona for officer training and Alexandra having one more year left at school. However, in the summer of 2022, they both committed to trying a long distance relationship, despite living thousands of miles away.

Through the years, Nick and Alexandra visited each other all over the country. They quickly realized, however, that they were not two birds of a feather. Their willingness to learn, grow, and experience together is ultimately what made them closer. Nick learned how to enjoy the presence of cats (although he still wants a dog), and Alexandra learned how to ski (even though she feared for her life). Nick learned to love Filipino food with Alexandra's family, and she learned how to play Pickleball from his. They often had to be creative to see each other, meeting up in the Grand Canyon, Manhattan, Michigan, Iowa, Texas, Colorado, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and more. With each visit, their love grew, and they both knew they couldn't live without each other.

So, in early July, they met once more in Berlin while Nick was on rotation in Europe, and he proposed. They hope to (finally) be together soon and live happily ever after.
