The Beginning

Picture of The Beginning

Ben and I met at Silver Falls during Memorial Day weekend of 2007. We officially began dating June 30th, 2007 and have been together ever since. I graduated from Colton High School in 2008 and attended Clackamas Community College until 2010. Ben graduated from Molalla High School in 2010 and attended the University of Oregon that fall. Once I had completed my transfer degree, I moved to Eugene and graduated with a BS in Psychology in 2013. Some of our favorite memories are from our U of O days! Go Ducks! Ben is on a journey to find a career he loves while I will finish up my Master's in School Counselor Education in April 2017. I would not be where I am today without the love and support I have received from not only Ben, but from all of our friends and families as well. We are so excited to share our special day with all of you especially since many of you have been on this journey with us since day one!

The Proposal

In 2014, Ben and I wanted to do something fun and decided to take a road trip. Ben, Lana, and I set out on our journey in August. We had a tentative route planned but didn't make any reservations and decided to just drive. Our first stop was at Salt Creek Falls near Oakridge, OR. Next, we decided to head over to Crater Lake (Ben had never been there!) and camped out at Mazama Campground. The next day we traveled along the Rogue River and stopped at the Rogue River Falls and Natural Bridge Falls. We ended up at Lost Creek Reservoir (Joseph Stewart). After we set up camp, we ventured down to the water. While I was playing with the dog Ben wondered off "to look around" but really he was panicking and trying to make a plan! He had been talking about swimming all day so I wondered why he didn't dive right in – turns out he had a ring in his pocket and he didn't want it to get wet! When he came back he was having Lana dig in the sand and told me to come look at what she had found. He picked it up and asked the question! He claims I said "Are you serious?!" at least 20 times before saying yes, I say maybe two times. I was completely surprised and had no idea this was going to happen which made the trip even better. We stayed at Lost Creek for another night before moving on to Diamond Lake which was quite the experience – somebody tried to steal our camping site and it turned into a pretty big ordeal with the lady! After one night of camping near her, we decided to move on to Paulina Lake. We did some hiking, fishing, and exploring. A perfect way to end the road trip I will never forget!
