Booking a Cabin at Getaway For accommodations we have reserved all 49 cabins at the Getaway Cabins in Kettle River, MN which are about 20 minutes from Juliane James Place. To book you cabin the process will be slightly different then making a traditional reservation. The cabins have been blocked to the general public so no one is able to book the weekend of 7/19 - 7/21 on the Getaway website. To book your cabin please carefully follow the instructions below and reach out to Gabe or Alexandra if you have any questions!
Each guest can create an account on our homepage here by clicking Login and then clicking Sign Up. Once the profile is created, they can log into their Getaway account, head to My Profile, and select My Payments to add a payment method. When complete, please let me know, and I will book each stay at $189 a night + taxes and fee’s. A courtesy hold has been placed on all 49 cabins at Getaway Kettle River. These cabins will be held until 5/01/24. Only one person from each group/family will need to create an account on the Getaway website. Once your account has been created please contact Gabriel or Alexandra to inform us that your account has been created and who will be staying in your cabin so we can add it to the rooming list. Once your name is added to the rooming list you will be charged for your cabin.
A couple of things to note: There is a two night minimum so the campground has been bought out for the entire weekend of 7/19 - 7/21. Check-in on Friday begins at 3:00 PM but you can arrive at anytime that is convenient to you after that time. Check-out on Sunday is at 11:00 AM.
There are forty nine cabins in total on the property. Thirty nine of the cabins have one queen bed that will sleep two people. Ten of the cabins have two queen beds that will sleep four. If you are a family traveling together or want to room with your friends please be sure to inform us so we can guarantee you a four person cabin. Two of the one bed cabins are ADA accessible and will be reserved for those with mobility needs.
Each cabin is equipped with the following:
a bathroom with shower
a kitchenette with a stove and mini fridge tea kettle
shampoo, conditioner, and body wash towels
linens
coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
pots, pans, plates, and silverware
Cups and mugs books
a deck of cards fire pit
picnic table outdoor chairs
firewood for purchase
What the cabins do not have:
Wi-Fi an
iron or steamer
blow dryer washer/dryer
mirrors (yes, no mirrors so be sure to bring small travel mirrors for getting ready)
Things to keep in mind: Cellphone service can be spotty in this region of Minnesota but should be adequate enough to make and receive calls or send texts. The cabins are modern and very new but they are small and meant to be the bare necessities of what you would need for a relaxing weekend in the woods. Consider bringing only carry-on sized luggage. Each cabin has its own parking area for cars so you will not need to walk far once you arrive at your cabin.
Traveling from MSP airport will take a little under two hours. Whether you fly into Terminal 1 or 2 it will be a direct shot up Highway 35. If you have to fly in a few days earlier or stay longer after the wedding there are many great lodging options near the airport! We are happy to recommend some.
While driving along 35 be sure to stop when you see Toby’s! It’s a bakery and diner in the town of Hinkley that has legendary caramel and cinnamon rolls. It’s also a great place to stop for gas and a refresh during your drive.
