The story actually began back in high school in 2008, where they both attended Nauset High together for two years. Alex eventually left for Chatham high school in 2010 going onto graduate in 2012 while Nick graduated from Nauset in 2011. Although they both attended the same school briefly, they never actually spoke to one another until years later. Nick went on to start school at WyoTech Trade School in Daytona Florida and graduated to become a Marine Diesel Mechanic in 2013 the same year that Alex began her schooling at UMass Boston.

While attending UMass Boston, like any college student at that time, Alex was scrolling through her notifications on Instagram and noticed Nick becoming a fan favorite of her pictures. So, Alex took her shot, “slid into his DMs” and the rest is history.

They began their relationship on April 12, 2013 while Alex was living in Boston, Nick on the Cape and made the most of each weekend spent together. To throw a wrench in their already semi-long-distance relationship, Nick went off to pursue his career in Marine Mechanics at his second favorite home, Port St Lucie, Florida so their relationship officially became long distance. Alex went on to visit him whenever she could, even going down for a whole month once. They made their relationship work until Nick eventually came back to the Cape a year later.

They’ve spent the last 11 years growing as couple and creating an amazing life together. From fishing the many waters of Cape Cod and Florida, exploring countless beaches, adopting their little shark Mako to building their very own home, the two of them have grown together immensely over the course of their relationship. The two of them knew that this life was for them and that they were each other’s person.

After what seemed like an eternity to Alex, Nick began the search for the perfect ring. On April 8, 2024, just a few days shy of their 11-year anniversary Nick took Alex to one of their favorite spots at Nauset Beach and asked Alex to be his forever partner.
