Our love story began like most modern day couples on an online dating app “Hinge”.

Our first date took place on February 1st, 2020. Joey impressed Alex as he always does planning an elaborate first date and swept Alex off her feet right away. He planned fancy drinks before dinner at Cloak and Petal, dinner at Barbusa, and then watched live music at Kettner Exchange. It was the best first date of our lives!

It was only 4 weeks into dating when the world shut down due to the pandemic. We chose to stick by one another’s sides through the ups and downs of the pandemic and grew close very quickly navigating unprecedented times together as a team. Our relationship has been far from traditional, but we wouldn’t want it any other way and it has led us to where we are today.

Over the years, we have traveled, moved into our home, adopted Cleopatra, and now get to celebrate the most exciting day with our loved ones. We feel blessed to have our family and friends by our side to celebrate this next chapter. We are excited to not only unify as a married couple this year, but soon after welcome baby Skupnjak in early October. This truly is the most special year yet and we can’t wait to have you all as part of our journey!
