Alex and Kevin first met while working at Lincoln High School Pool for the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation during the summer of 2016. After falling out of touch for a few years, they reconnected one evening when Alex was home from college one weekend. Kevin messaged Alex on Snapchat and asked her on date.

After seeing each other for a few months, Kevin realized he did not want to let her go back to college without Alex being his girlfriend. They saw each other when Alex visited home and sometimes when Kevin would make the trip out to Pittsburgh.

Once Alex graduated they were able to see one another all the time, and in the fall of 2023 Kevin realized he wanted to get down on one knee and propose to Alex. Fast forward a couple months, in May of 2024 on Mother's Day weekend, Kevin asked Alex to marry him at Sunset Bay in Wildwood Crest.
