Our Story

Welcome to Western Wedding University—oops, we mean Walla Walla University! It was 2017, and as Alexandra sat in Village Hall during freshman orientation (JumpStart), she couldn’t help but wonder what the next four years had in store. Would she meet her future spouse like that one couple everyone seemed to talk about? What was God’s plan for her? What major would she choose? So many questions, and not a single clue about the answers.

Meanwhile, across the room, Theo spotted a girl with long hair. She’s cute, he thought. Alexandra, of course, had no idea who he was. A year later, however, their paths crossed when they both became resident assistants (RAs) in the dorms.

Over the next few years, we stayed in touch through Instagram, exchanging memes, chatting about the weather, and making some truly cringe-worthy puns. In 2022, after about five years of scattered conversations, we decided to hang out one-on-one. Alexandra thought it was just a friendly get-together, but Theo had already started to feel like there might be something more between us.

On April 9, 2024, we had a phone call during Theo’s pickleball small group that changed everything. Something clicked, and by June 8, Theo officially asked Alexandra to be his girlfriend. Living over 400 miles apart wasn’t easy, but we became pros at planning trips and packing suitcases. We’re definitely looking forward to living in the same county (and under the same roof!) after the wedding.

Fast forward to November 23, 2024. It was cold, a little rainy, and not exactly what you’d call ideal beach weather. As we walked along the shore, Theo suddenly stopped and said, “I have to tie my shoe.”

“But you’re not wearing shoes!” Alexandra said, laughing.

That’s when Theo dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring. He proposed, and of course, Alexandra said yes! That rainy day became one of the brightest moments of our lives.

Now, we’re so excited to celebrate our wedding with all of you! Life is so much better when we’re together, and we can’t wait to start this new chapter surrounded by the people we love most.
