If we aren't staying in one of the historic hotels then you can find us camping in Petoskey. You don't have to camp to enjoy this State Park. Take a ride in and you'll have access to Lake Michigan and can enjoy a beach day and check out the dunes and even Petoskey stone hunt!
We try and leave Petoskey with one more book on our shelf from this wonderful book store. When you're leaving hang a left and grab a coffee from Roast and Toast... Alex's favorite coffee is an iced Zen.
Staying for a couple days and looking to visit one of the National Parks? About an hour away is the Sleeping Bear Dunes. There are great day hikes, beach access and beautiful dune views. Make sure to stop through Traverse City and other towns you pass through!
The Tunnel of Trees is a real treat in the fall, and when you're on your way you'll pass through Harbor Springs which is worth the stop to check out the quaint harbor town.
Are you staying for a couple days and looking for a day trip? Head out to Leland and check out the historic Fishtown. A small village atop docks where you can wander in and out of the small shops right on the water!
A few minutes away is a fun mini golf course where you can learn more about Blackbeard and his friends and see who is a mini golf champ.
We love to stop in for a game... or a couple when we spend time in Petoskey.
