Our story started in March of 2018, at McGillicuddy’s, a landmark any SJU student loves (but knows never to go back to in adult life). Mike was in his fifth year at St. Joe’s, while I was finishing my senior year. He bought me a "bent elbow", and I spent the next 4 hours convincing him that even as a New Yorker - he should admit that the 2018 Eagles Super Bowl team was actually super likable.
Thankfully, we kept the conversation going BEYOND our fandom differences. We learned very quickly we had a lot in common, often saying we felt like the male & female versions of each other, which has only grown stronger over the years.
We started building our life together after college, navigating the ups and downs of growing up (job changes, student loans, two master’s degrees, long-distance relationships, a global pandemic shutting the world down, and four moves—twice over state lines) and despite how crazy our schedules can be, it has been a lot of fun.
Eventually, we ended up back in Philly, with Mike chasing A-10 championships coaching at our alma mater in his sport of lacrosse, and me working in Marketing & Strategy for Wawa, with our 3 year old 90-lb son (black lab) Freddie.
We’re so excited to keep building our life together and can’t wait to celebrate with all of you.
