What airport should I fly into?
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC): It is a 40 minute drive to Solitude Mountain Resort and 25 minute drive to Courtyard Marriott SLC at the base of the canyon.
Will there be transportation provided?
If you stay at Solitude, in the village, there will be a local shuttle that will take you from the village to the bottom of the Moonbeam chairlift at 2:30pm. If you stay at the Courtyard Marriott at the base of the canyon, there will be a shuttle taking you up to the wedding, leaving the hotel at 2:30pm, and two shuttles down at the end of the night at 9:30pm and 11pm. Free parking is available if you would like to drive up the canyon yourself.
Are we required to take the chairlift up?
The ceremony and reception will both take place up on the mountain, requiring transportation up there. You have the option of riding the chairlift, five minute ride, which will start running at 3:00 pm, or there will be a shuttle provided if you would rather be driven up to the top, but the drive would be about 20 minutes.
What happens when I get off the chairlift?
There is a short walk (less than 0.25 miles) down to the ceremony/reception area. It is not a paved trail, and is not suitable for high heels. Please make sure to bring an extra pair of shoes if needed.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be held outdoors on the lawn outside of the reception venue. The reception will be help indoors.
Is there a dress code?
We ask everyone to dress formally, in order to maintain the elegance and formality of the occasion. For gentlemen, this typically means a suit and tie, while ladies are encouraged to wear cocktail dresses, evening gowns, or other appropriate formal attire.
What should I expect the weather to be like?
The weather in Utah in August is beautiful; however, there may be a chance of rain. The temperature will most likely be high 60's to low 70's Fahrenheit. We do recommend that all guests bring a raincoat just in case.
