Michael and Alexandra grew up in the same Greek Orthodox Church community. Although, never friends, they attended the same events, retreats and gatherings through the years. It wasn’t until the Hellenic Dance Festival or as most know it HDF in 2009, that they met. Well, briefly…haha! During the weekend, at one of the glentia, Alexandra had mustered up the confidence to ask Michael to dance a syrto. She quickly got turned down, as Michael was waiting on his “friends”. Fast forward to 2011, they found themselves at the same Greek festival in Daytona Beach. While at Razzles (iykyk), ironically Alexandra asked Michael to dance again. This time it worked! Thanks to “Danza Kuduro”. Third times a charm in 2017, Michael is in Grenada in medical school, and the two decide they will get together over Christmas break. They went for dinner and drinks before Epiphany in Dunedin and the rest is history!


The two got engaged in Paris, France, on a bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower!


The wedding will be in Arkasa, Karpathos, Michael’s xwrio (village) in Greece!
