Written from Alexandra's perspective....

Sam had set up a photoshoot because we had been discussing taking photos on our bikes before the warmer season was over with. He had reached out to our good friend, Amy Samson, who we work with and who does photography on the side. I suspected nothing since we had been talking all summer about how we wanted "couples photos" on the bike. However, I should have been suspicious because Sam does not like having his photo taken.

The days before he was acting 'weird' but I thought nothing of it. He assured me he needed a haircut before the photo shoot, even though I questioned this because wouldn't we have our helmets on I thought to myself. He also was very persistent on asking me several times what I had planned to wear. Which again, I thought to myself, it shouldn't matter too much because we will have our riding gear on. Again, I was completely clueless.

October 29th, 2023, we set out to ride to Natchez Trace to meet Amy. A ride we have taken several times and one of the first roads I learned to ride on. So, very special to us. Sam had conveniently picked the turn off point that would be less congested and somewhere we were familiar with.

Sam insisted that we take some photos first without the bikes and to which I was very confused. This is when things got interesting.

Sam gave me a big hug only to back up and get down on one knee. As this point I am a blubbering baby putting together all the puzzle pieces and realizing what was about to happen. Sam bursted out, "Alexandra Hull will you Marry Me." To which I responded, "Oh course." Later on I would learn Sam had practiced a whole speech but when it came time, he was too nervous to say it all.
