We met on our cross country team, Ethan in 7th grade and myself in 8th grade. We had always been teammates and acquaintances around our very small school until my freshman year of high school when Ethan started driving with my sister, Jamie, and me to practice every day. We had a lot of time in the car listening to music, Jamie telling Ethan to get his feet off the seats, and him throwing things at me from the back of the car. After all the time in transit to and from practices, we actually became friends. Flash forward to the fall of 2017, when the time in the car turned into spending all cross-country camp together and now talking outside of practice as well. Early into the cross-country season, Ethan and I started dating, and it has been that way ever since. We’ve had many school dances, movie dates, hockey games, and every other major milestone you hit in high school together. Post high school has consisted of 4 (almost five years) being long distance at different colleges, LOTS of FaceTime calls, and well-awaited school breaks. After many years of discussion and people always asking when I was getting a ring, in March of 2023, Ethan asked me to marry him in one of our favorite places where we are now getting married. It has been a long time coming, but we are finally excited to say we have a date to put an end to being apart and start a new chapter of our lives together!
