Our Story

Alex and Blake were each having a night out with friends when they met at his dad's bar, Lost Dog Tavern in Atlanta, on Halloween weekend 2021. She was dressed as Padme from Star Wars, and he was dressed like Joe Goldberg from the TV show You (an unsettling resemblance in a Yankees cap!). After stealing quite a few glances at each other, Blake made the first move. His opening line was "Do you want a Jager shot?". Wanting to seem cool, Alex agreed even though she wanted to spit it out - not her drink of choice. They hit it off with a night full of conversation, but it didn't seem like the great connection would turn into much with Alex still having lived in Greenville, SC at the time. So they went their separate ways... Fast forward to a few months later, and Alex landed a new job in Atlanta. Within 2 weeks of moving, she went out to Lost Dog with her friends to celebrate New Years Eve, and guess who was there? None other than Blake! It felt like fate. Their conversation picked up right where they left off, and they even shared their first kiss. That night, they both knew this would turn into something special. Blake and Alex officially began dating when he asked her to be his girlfriend later that month in January 2022. On September 13, 2024, Blake proposed to Alex on a beautiful sunset beach walk in St. Pete Beach, FL. They are so excited to invite their friends and family to Telluride, CO to join them for a cozy, intimate wedding celebration followed by an epic week shredding some powder - their favorite activity together!

Flights

We recommend flying in and out of Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ). Telluride is a 1 hour and 15 minute drive from Montrose. Shuttle information to come. Guests are welcome to rent a vehicle as an alternative. However, a car is not necessary for getting around Telluride, as the town is very walkable, and the venue is accessible by the free gondola.

Travel

We are inviting our guests to ski or snowboard with us during the week after our wedding! Lift tickets can be purchased directly through <a href="https://shop.tellurideskiresort.com/s/passes-and-tickets/winter-passes/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Telluride Ski Resort</a>. However, if you plan to access the slopes for 4 days or more, we recommend purchasing an <a href="https://www.epicpass.com/pass-results/passes.aspx" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Epic Pass</a> for most affordable tickets. You can choose a 4-7 day pass or unrestricted, full season pass for access to Telluride Ski Resort. Please note your mobile pass on the My Epic app is not accepted at Telluride, so be sure to bring your physical Epic Pass card! In the event your card gets left behind or lost, you can visit the Epic Pass ticket window at Oak Street or Mountain Village with your valid ID and proof of active pass to have one re-printed on-site.

Downtown Telluride has shopping, museums, bars &amp; restaurants, live music events, and more. Fun fact - there are no chain restaurants in Telluride! Take the free gondola to downtown from Mountain Village (12-minute ride), and the panoramic views won't disappoint. The gondola operates 6:30am to midnight on weekdays and runs until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
