What are the details of the venue?
The venue is fully outdoors, rain or shine! There is a pavilion, small pond, open space, and we will have tents and seating for everyone attending. There will be parking at the venue but the less cars, the better for space purposes. The venue is called The Pointe at Wolfe Run, located westbound on US Route 36, directly across from the Decatur Conference Hotel. Address of the venue is 4202 US-36, Decatur IL 62522. Guests are welcome from 5 PM until 10:30 PM.
Where can we stay?
We scheduled a block of rooms beginning Friday, September 20th, until Sunday, the 22nd at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel under KRALMAN ROOM BLOCK. Again, this hotel is located directly across from the venue. Address for the hotel is 4191 US Hwy 36 West, Decatur, IL. Please call 217-422-8800 to schedule, rooms are $114 plus tax per night.
What should we wear?
Something a little more elevated from casual to semi-formal attire would be perfect for this event. No need to get too fancy unless you want to, please just dress comfortably! Collared shirts, button-ups, khakis or even khaki shorts, dresses, flowy pants, breathable clothing, etc. are some great examples of what to wear. Preferably no jeans. Weather can be warmer with the sun, and cooler as it goes down, so feel free to toss a sweater in the car just in case! Please check the weather forecast to best prepare for the day. There will be a good amount of greenery, so if you are inclined to go for a color scheme, emerald or moss greens would go great, but any and all fall colors would pair nicely as well!
What’s the food and drink situation?
We will have dinner catered by Hamilton’s Catering Service, Inc. Serving fried chicken, mostaccioli with meatsauce, tossed salad, corn, mashed potatoes with roasted garlic and chicken gravy with fresh baked dinner rolls. As for dessert, Jeff’s favorite, an assortment of pies from Diamond’s Family Restaurant. There will be an open bar with select liquors, beer, and wine.
Are we registered anywhere?
We are not setting up any registries; we are extremely fortunate to have a home full of love, laughter, and furniture. Your presence at our reception is the greatest gift of all, but if you wish to give us anything, we would greatly appreciate any contributions that will go towards our honeymoon and/or some much needed home improvements for our 100+ year old home.
Can we bring our kids?
To allow all guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely and regrettably request no children in attendance aside from a few close, small family members who will not be in attendance for the entire evening.
