May I add a guest or bring my kids to the wedding?
Due to spatial limitations at the venue, we ask that only those with names on the invitation envelopes attend the wedding. Our wedding is also a formal event that isn’t ideal for children, so no kids, please.
What airport should I fly into?
We ask that you fly into either Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) or Dallas Love Field International Airport (DAL). Both are about an hour from Gainesville.
When should I arrive at the ceremony venue?
We recommend arriving at the church 15 to 30 minutes before the ceremony begins, so that would be 2:00 pm at the absolute earliest. There is no need to arrive earlier.
How will I follow along with the Christian Ceremony?
The purpose of a Christian Ceremony is for the bride and groom to come together before Christ as one being with God as the center of the marriage publicly before our family and friends. Therefore, we will have prayers and a couple of worship songs/hymns included. The lyrics for the songs will be on the screens above you for you to sing along and worship if you wish. However, there is no pressure if you choose to participate or not. We are just glad that you are here with us.
May I throw anything celebratory during the ceremony?
Our church has asked that there be no throwing of articles at any time on the property (e.g. flowers, flower petals, birdseed, rice, confetti, etc.). The use of bubbles and balloons are also not permitted. Thank you!
How far away is the reception venue from the church?
The FBG Summit Building is located right behind the main sanctuary building. It's a 3-minute walk to get to the reception. Reception is set to start at about 3:45 pm.
Will there be a dinner provided?
Due to this wedding being an afternoon wedding, a full dinner will not be served. We provide a large grazing table, refreshing beverages, and cake at the reception to chat, sit, and enjoy fellowship together. The reception is set end at approximately 5:30 pm which opens to time for you to do whatever your heart is content for dinner. Downtown Gainesville has lots of options for dinner in town and right outside of town as well.
Will there be an open bar?
No, there will not be alcohol at our reception.
What is appropriate attire?
Semi-formal attire, please. Imagine what would you wear to a traditional Sunday church service. Sunday-best.
What is the wedding theme?
Our wedding colors are Red, white, dusty rose, light pink, and cornflower blue. Our theme is classic, elegant, spring, simple, and heart-felt.
May I share photos and videos on social media?
Yes! We ask that you stay as present as possible during the ceremony out of respect for the mass. Our photography team will take all the professional photos for the ceremony and reception. Take as many photos and videos as you want during the reception! Please use our hashtag #WoodwindWedding2025 so we can easily find your photos and videos on social media!
Are the venues indoors or outdoors?
Both the ceremony and the reception venues are indoor venues. No need to worry about melting in the Texas heat.
What is the parking situation?
There is a large parking lot right outside the FBG Main Sanctuary along with a smaller lot right outside the doors and a few spots outside the Summit Building.
