Is there parking available at the venue?

Yes. When you come through the main gates there will be signs and parking attendants indicating where to park. Parking will be a short walk from the cocktail location and reception location, and there will be a golf cart to transport guests if needed.

Where is cocktail hour?

Cocktail hour will be outside in the The Octagonal Gardens adjacent to the reception building. There will be signs directing you from the cocktail gardens to The Pavillion. A golf cart will be available to transport guests.

Can I explore the gardens during cocktail hour?

Yes. The cocktail hour will be at the Octagonal Gardens, but there are several other surrounding gardens to explore if you wish. Guests cannot be in the gardens after sunset due to lack of lighting. Cocktail hour ends at 6 pm, and guests will be ushered to The Pavillion for the reception.

How can I get from The Inn to the reception?

The Inn is a short walk from the reception space. Guests are encouraged to use the shuttle that will transport them to and from The Inn to the reception. Guests are not allowed to walk back to The Inn from the reception after sunset due to lack of lighting.

What is Middleton Place?

The reception will be at Middleton Place, a historic Charleston landmark. First established in 1675, it is located along the Ashley River and is considered the oldest manicured gardens in America. In addition to the gardens, the vast property includes stable yards, a restaurant, and an Inn.

What is included with a stay at The Inn?

If you choose to stay at The Inn at Middleton Place, you will receive complimentary general admission to Middleton Place National Historic Landmark for the length of stay. The Inn has complimentary continental breakfast served daily in the Lake House, complimentary parking, a seasonal outdoor pool, a large selection of outdoor and indoor games, and daily afternoon cheese displays and happy hour/evening night caps at the The Lodge. Room amenities include complimentary WiFi, Roku TVs, a mini fridge, seasonal wood burning fireplaces, a Keurig coffee maker, hair dryer, and more. Is there parking at the church for the ceremony?

Yes. The church has a large parking lot on the grounds that will be free for use. Ubers/Lyfts can also be used to travel to the ceremony.

Can I leave my car at the reception overnight?

No. The gardens open to the public at 9 am each day. If there are cars left overnight at the reception space they will be towed before the gardens open.

When is the restaurant open?

The restaurant at Middleton Place is open for lunch 11 am-3 pm Monday to Saturday and for dinner 5 pm- 8:30 pm Wednesday-Saturday. Reservations are required for dinner. You must purchase general admission tickets to Middleton Place in order to dine for lunch. If you are staying at The Inn, tickets are included for the length of your stay. Tickets to the gardens are not required for dinner. A Sunday brunch buffet is available from 11 am-3 pm to guests who have purchased a general admission ticket. The dress code is garden party formal.

The average high for April is 73 degrees and the average low is 59 degrees.

What time does the reception end?

Due to Charleston sound ordinances, the reception will end at 11 pm.

Are The Inn and reception space wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Both The Inn and the reception space are wheelchair accessible. A first floor room at The Inn is available upon request.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony begins promptly at 3 pm. Guests should plan to arrive by 2:30 to allow time for parking.
