Our Wedding

Our&nbsp;first&nbsp;date,&nbsp;Kyle&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;me&nbsp;bowling.&nbsp;Little&nbsp;did&nbsp;he&nbsp;know,&nbsp;he&nbsp;was&nbsp;about&nbsp;to&nbsp;get&nbsp;his&nbsp;butt&nbsp;kicked.&nbsp;After&nbsp;the&nbsp;date&nbsp;we&nbsp;drove&nbsp;our&nbsp;separate&nbsp;ways,&nbsp;but&nbsp;quickly&nbsp;reunited.&nbsp;I&nbsp;called&nbsp;Kyle&nbsp;and&nbsp;asked&nbsp;if&nbsp;he&nbsp;could&nbsp;help&nbsp;me&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;flat&nbsp;tire.&nbsp;So&nbsp;here&nbsp;we&nbsp;are&nbsp;at&nbsp;a&nbsp;gas&nbsp;station&nbsp;around&nbsp;midnight,&nbsp;while&nbsp;Kyle&nbsp;helps&nbsp;me&nbsp;get&nbsp;my&nbsp;spare&nbsp;tire&nbsp;on.&nbsp;He&nbsp;joked&nbsp;that&nbsp;I&nbsp;just&nbsp;couldn't&nbsp;wait&nbsp;to&nbsp;see&nbsp;him&nbsp;again.&nbsp;The&nbsp;rest&nbsp;is&nbsp;history!&nbsp;We&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;take&nbsp;any&nbsp;pictures&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;bowling&nbsp;alley,&nbsp;but&nbsp;we&nbsp;quickly&nbsp;went&nbsp;on&nbsp;another&nbsp;date&nbsp;and&nbsp;eventually&nbsp;ended&nbsp;up&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;beach&nbsp;trip&nbsp;where&nbsp;we&nbsp;took&nbsp;our&nbsp;first&nbsp;picture&nbsp;together&nbsp;❤️

Our First Date

I&nbsp;knew&nbsp;something&nbsp;was&nbsp;happening&nbsp;soon,&nbsp;but&nbsp;Kyle&nbsp;still&nbsp;managed&nbsp;to&nbsp;surprise&nbsp;me!&nbsp;As&nbsp;Celine&nbsp;Dion&nbsp;sang&nbsp;"My&nbsp;Heart&nbsp;Will&nbsp;Go&nbsp;On"&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;Bellagio&nbsp;fountains&nbsp;put&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;show,&nbsp;Kyle&nbsp;got&nbsp;down&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;knee&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;said&nbsp;yes!

We are still confirming all details. The ceremony has been confirmed, our lodging has been confirmed, but some activities require tickets and we are too far out in advance to purchase them. Hang tight and RSVP!

All activities are open to everyone. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly and make reservations. We will be attending all events.
 
On day 5 we have three different activities, you can choose one, two, or go crazy and do all of them!
 
1) For those seeking a little thrill, join us for a 4-mile hike to a beautiful lake. 
 
2) If you&#8217;d prefer a more leisurely way to take in the beauty of the mountains, enjoy a scenic trolley tour in comfort and style. 
 
3) Want some adventure, with a little less sweat? Join us on the Aerial Tramway as we take in breathtaking views from 8,000 feet up! 
 
However you choose to spend the day, we can&#8217;t wait to gather together and continue celebrating!

Weather

The weather in June in Estes Park should be generally sunny and beautiful! You can expect daytime temperatures typically ranging from the mid-60s to the high-70s. Evenings can be cooler, often dropping into the 40s. Though the days are generally sunny, there is the chance of occasional afternoon thunderstorms, so it's a good idea to bring layers, a light jacket, and rain protection (fingers crossed this stays in your suitcase!).

Altitude 

Estes Park, Colorado sits at an elevation of 7,522 feet. Please be aware of the effects of high altitude and start hydrating at least 2 days before you arrive in Colorado! Drink more water than you think you'll need, and consider adding electrolytes. Don't overdo it with exercise and note that alcohol tends to have greater effects at higher elevation.

Our Itinerary

Estes Park is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Denver International Airport. The city of Denver is approximately 30 minutes from the Denver International Airport.
 
We plan on having a few designated drivers to help drive from the airport to Denver to Estes Park. We will try to coordinate any carpool options to ensure everyone feels safe getting to the venues. If you are renting a car, Denver Airport has phenomenal rental services and Turo is also a great option to look into. If you do not plan on renting a car please contact us so we can try to arrange a car pool for you.
 
There is NO Uber or Lyft service available in Estes Park. There is, however, an Estes Park local version of Uber/Lyft called Explore Estes- additional details below. With that said, we do recommend a rental car as the most flexible choice for getting to and around the town, but the immediate town of Estes Park is fairly small and walkable!
 
Please note: There is NO rental car provider in Estes Park, so cars will need to be rented at Denver International Airport or in the Denver area.

Estes Park Airport Shuttle

Scheduled shuttle service from Denver International Airport to your accommodations in Estes Park. Cost is $85 one way or $155 round-trip per customer. Reservations can be made online or by calling 970-586-5151.

Estes Park Free Shuttle

Estes Park offers free shuttle buses that will take visitors around town and offers stops near many lodging options. They also take vistors into Rocky Mountain National Park. Route info and stops are available on the website.

Explore Estes

Explore Estes is proud to be the only private transportation business that is fully licensed, regulated, and insured in the state of Colorado to provide private Uber-like transportation services within Estes Park and to the Rocky Mountain National Park. They'll pick you up right from your location and drop you off exactly at your destination! Their services book up quickly, so please allow at least an hour's notice, if possible. Though helpful, we do not recommend relying solely on this as your means of transportation as their fleet is limited to only 3 cars, and it will be the busy season in the area.

Estes Park

Estes Park is a very popular summer travel destination! While there is plenty of lodging available, we strongly recommend booking early if you are able to attend. Rooms are already filling up quickly.
 
There are so many lodging options to meet your style. Stay close to the town where the action is, stay on the river and enjoy the views, budget-friendly options, and even family cabins with multiple rooms. Whatever your style, we are so excited to have you here in beautiful Estes Park. If you are planning to drive with others, try to coordinate staying at the same location. We will be staying riverside at Castle Mountain Lodge.

For a more quaint cabin mountain getaway, check out Castle Mountain Lodge. With hot tubs in nearly every cabin, a fire pit, and being a little outside the town it should be a relaxing home away from home. Look out for the Elk along the river! Averages $160-$300 per night depending on number of bedrooms. Larger 2 and 3 bedroom cabins are available here.

For a more traditional stay close to the action of the town, the Holiday Inn will not disappoint! Averages around $250 per night.

Black Canyon Inn 

Relaxed lodging offering a hot tub, a pool and a riverside locale, plus breakfast. Not too far from the action, these cozy cabins average $160-$275 per night, depending on the number of rooms. Larger 2 and 3 bedroom cabins are available here.

Murphy's River Lodge

Simple rooms & airy cabins offering river views, plus fishing, hiking trails & a communal hot tub. Averages $160-$300 per night. Has larger 2 bedroom cabins.

If you are planning on staying in Colorado a little longer, or have some free time, these are a few activities to check out!

Denver

In Denver, check out the beautiful Botanic Gardens or the Butterfly Pavilion! Get a cold beer at the Coors Brewery Tour or wander the Red Rocks Amphitheater. Go downtown and visit Union Station in LoDo or visit the arts district in RiNo.

For a family-friendly adventure ride the Mustang Mountain Coaster in Estes Park! 
 
Estes Park Ride A Cart you can challenge your family and friends to a round of mini golf or bumper cars next to the river!
 
Take a tour of the famous Stanley Hotel to learn all about how Stephen King wrote The Shining after spending just one night there.
 
Visit Lake Estes and rent a paddleboard or kayak. Or just relax and unwind by the lake! 
 
Check out the historic Park Theatre to catch a movie!
 
Unwind at the Qi Lounge and Spa, perfect for a relaxing break.
 
Explore the rock shops of the area and see various fossils and gems. Red Rose Rock Shop comes highly recommended!
 
For history lovers, check out the free Estes Park Museum and the Birch Ruins.
 
On Thursday mornings, there&#8217;s a farmers' market in town with various goodies sold. We might have to pick up some local honey!
 
On a clear night, make a reservation for the Estes Park Memorial Observatory. This is a must on a clear night!
 
Summer is perfect for horseback riding in the Rockies!
 
Wake up early and book a white water rafting trip. Most start at 6 am!
 
For those who love a drive, the peak-to-peak scenic byway drive takes you through the mountains. See small towns, ghost towns, small shops, and gorgeous views that lead all the way to Blackhawk. This 1.5 hr drive one way really gets you into the mountains!
 
We will be going on a hike, but the hiking trails are endless and range from beginner to advanced. Rocky Mountain National Park is a true beauty and if you have time, explore as much as possible! Waterfalls, Mountains, Wildlife, oh my!

Blackhawk

Did someone say casinos? Black Hawk has some of the cutest small town casinos. This quaint town has charm and great views!

Colorado Springs 

If you are down for a drive, Colorado Springs is a beautiful town and is where you can go to see the majestic rock formations of Garden of the Gods, or the otherworldly Painted Mines Archeological Site. Visit Cave of the Winds for a cave tour, other various activities, and take the plunge on the Terror-dactyl, a canyon swing that sits on the edge of a 200 foot cliff.

Breckenridge 

Check out the beautiful Breckenridge resort area. Try to find the famous Breckenridge troll and walk the all the hand crafted shops.

Copper Mountain

Although ski season is not here yet, check out Alex's favorite place that has become one of our favorite&#160; places. Copper Mountain. Ask us if you can join our ski trip next year! ;)
