Downtown Georgetown/ the Court House

Downtown Georgetown, or "The Square", is located just 10-15 min North of Round Rock. Named as the most beautiful town square in Texas, it is a must-see stop if you're looking for things to do. There's many shops, restaurants, wine bars (you can walk around the square with your glass of wine!), boutiques, etc. The court house has it's own historical significance and you can take a tour if you're so inclined. There is also a Georgetown information center on the square if you're looking for inspiration for more to do, or the Williamson County museum is right across the street from the court house if you're interested in Georgetown, TX history.

Kerbey Lane Cafe - Round Rock

Kerbey Lane Cafe is an Austin favorite. They are open 24 hours a day and serve a full menu (including breakfast) all day long. They are known for their pancakes, which differ weekly, as well as their Kerbey Queso. This is a 5 min drive/Uber/Lyft from the Holiday Inn if you are staying in our blocked out rooms! We would definitely recommend it if you're wanting a taste of Austin for breakfast, or really any other time of day.

Torchy's Tacos

Torchy's Tacos is another "must" as far as food while you are staying in the Austin area. They started out as a taco truck in downtown Austin and has become so successful that they now have locations all over central Texas, and even a few in Oklahoma and Colorado. This is also Alex's favorite queso in town, for what that's worth. They have their menu online which includes more than just tacos. There is also a featured "Taco of the Month" that changes monthly and shouldn't be missed! They do "to-go" orders but we recommend you eat your tacos fresh.
PS: if you order the Trailer Park, make it "trashy". You'll thank us later. ;)

The Round Rock

YES, there actually IS a Round Rock! The city's namesake is a 5 min drive or less down the same road from the Holiday Inn if you are staying in one of our hotel rooms we have blocked out. There is a small park with waterfalls and shallow water to wade in if you would like. Occasionally the park will close on rainy since it is located on a low water crossing, but if the weather is nice you should be fine. It is, however, a high traffic area so I recommend keeping an eye on all members of your party if you want to cross the road to get a better look/pictures, etc.

Bullock Texas State History Museum

For the history buffs! This one is about a 30min drive/Uber from the Holiday Inn if you're staying in a room we blocked out. This museum will provide an entire day of entertainment for you and the fam. Afterwards, you'll find yourself in the heart of downtown Austin, and the possibilities of what to do are endless from there.
