They first met while working at Tim Hortons, and still can't agree on who made the first move. What we do know, is Matt officially asked Alex to date on September 1, 2016.

Matt graduates high school and starts post-secondary studies at Brock University in September, signalling the beginning of a two-year (or so), long distance chapter to this love story.

Matt visits nearly every weekend from Brock University in the first year of long distance, and Alex graduates high school and enters the Nursing program at Ontario Tech University in September.

Matt continues his studies at Brock University and Alex starts her studies at Ontario TechU. The shift brought them 70km closer. What's better than being 2 1/2 hours apart? Being only 2 hours apart and driving the 401.

Ontario enters a state of emergency, shifting their studies to virtual, and Alex moves in with the Robitaille's. This, of course, was only a temporary solution.... Right?

Six. Years. & Matt finally posts a couple photo to his socials. FYI, Alex still lives with the Robitaille's, temporarily, of course.

The wedding era starts. Alex & Matt attend his cousin's wedding, with many more to come.

Matt graduates from Brock University and joins the workforce. He begins the CPA PEP course to obtain his designation.

Alex graduates from Ontario TechU (photo seen is the official ceremony in June) and begins studying for her NCLEX (licensing exam for nurses). She passes in March and starts full-time in April as a Registered Nurse.

For the first few years at Matt's job, his co-workers didn't believe Alex existed. Since then, she has attended all of Matt's work Christmas parties which were always fun! P.S. Matt received notice that he officially passed his CFE and obtained his professional designation the same day as this Christmas party.

After deciding to put off buying a house and save, an opportunity arose that Matt & Alex couldn't pass up. They performed a successful 180 and agreed to purchase their first home.

Matt was calm and reassuring throughout the house purchasing process, however, Alex was surprised at how lengthy the house buying process can be. Many documents to be signed!

Closing day! They received the keys to their new home just minutes before the 5pm deadline.

Matt and Alex take a spontaneous trip with Friends to Letchworth State Park in New York State. The Grand Canyon of the East.

After the Grinch tried to steal Christmas (artificial tree lost in transit), Alex & Matt pivot to celebrate their first holiday season in their new home with a real tree.
