Our Wedding

We met on November 1, 2019 at a Halloween party! Our friend, Abby, invited me (Alex) to a work party where Justin was going to be. He had recently followed me on Instagram and I was looking forward to meeting him. When he showed up he was the only other person who was not in a relationship so naturally we talked all night. The next morning he asked me to go out to breakfast and we have been infatuated with each other ever since! Our first date, we spent the day downtown by Holland. I called my friends on my drive home and described my feelings for him as “big” and “final”: He officially asked me to be his girlfriend on November 23rd. He had been my best friend since that day. The picture above is our first picture together, New Years Eve- celebrating 2020.

Alex's younger sister. They enjoy cooking, being outside, traveling, and spending time together. Carolyn is studying Food Science at MSU and is in her fourth and final year.

Carolyn Peterson

Justin's best friend from Ferris State! They spent lots of time working on different projects together. Kyle lives in New York state and works as an automotive engineer.

Kyle Wood

Justin's older brother. They spend time together working on construction projects as they both enjoy working with their hands. He got married in October of 2021! Ethan works in construction and owns his own home improvement LLC.

Ethan Poppaw-Andres

Alex's best friend since the seventh grade! They grew up cheering together and now enjoy living in the Detroit area together. They love to explore, go on an annual wine tasting trip, spend time at her cottage, shop, and eat good food together. Abby is a mechanical engineer. 

Abigail Warsen

Justin's older brother. They like to work on different projects together, everything from woodworking to 3-D printing! Nate lives in Hart, MI (Justin's hometown) and works on a deer farm. 

Nate AndresMooi

Alex's best friend since day one of college! They met on a study abroad to Italy before freshman year. They lived together for senior year of college. They love to travel together, having gone to Alaska, Key West, Cozumel, Nashville, Paris, London, Amsterdam, and Brussels together. Natalie is an ASD classroom teacher.

Natalie Tucker

Justin's friend and coworker. They enjoy helping each other with their 3-D printers and the projects that go along with that. Ryan got married in October of 2021! He is an automotive engineer.

Please arrive by 3:15pm as the ceremony begins at 3:30pm.

What Is The Dress Code?

Will You Require Everyone In Attendance To Be Vaccinated?

We are not requiring vaccinations for those attending our wedding. We trust that every one of our family and friends will be respectful of our celebration and not attend if they are feeling ill, showing COVID symptoms, or have recently been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID. We do ask that everyone attending be mindful in the days leading up to our wedding, as we will have older individuals present at the event. We also strongly encourage getting tested before arriving.

Will The Ceremony Be Taking Place Indoors Or Outdoors?

The ceremony will take place outside. The cocktail hour, reception, and dancing will take place in the Colonial Room at Mission Point. It is an indoor venue with a balcony looking out over the front lawn and Lake Huron. We are hoping for great weather for the ceremony!(For the ladies: there is grass at the ceremony site, so be mindful with your heels!)

Will There Be Dancing?

Yes! We have booked a DJ who is local to Mackinac Island and will have all of our favorites, so please get ready to dance the night away!

Can I take And Post Pictures Of The Wedding On Social Media?

Absolutely! We do ask that you refrain from posting the pictures on social media until after we have a chance to post pictures from our wedding. We are also asking for the ceremony to be completely unplugged/ photo-free so as to not take photo opportunities away from our photographer's experience. All you need to do for the ceremony is enjoy and be present!
