Their story began the Spring of 2015 at Brogan and Partners Alex was a post-grad intern and Gunnar a current manager. On Alex's first day, she was assigned to the media team, and that was when she met Gunnar. To Alex’s luck, Gunnar was not her direct manager, but Alex wanted to keep things professional. Shockingly, it was too late, as Alex became too smitten to resist Gunnar's charm.
As summer approached, Gunnar finally asked Alex on a date. They spent the evening at Royal Oak's 4th of July Rib Festival and from that night on Alex and Gunnar were inseparable.
One year later, Gunnar moved in with Alex and her loyal fur companion, Leon and eventually adopted another fur companion Moby. As the years progressed in their relationship. They both were surprised by how opposites attracted. Alex keeps Gunnar on his toes while Gunnar grounds Alex of all her shenanigans, but most importantly each supported one another through career opportunities, football seasons (Go Lions!), meeting each other's family and strengthening their relationship.
Alex and Gunnar both love to travel, especially to beach towns in West Michigan. During their travels, Alex and Gunnar enjoy antiquing, which over the years has expanded their eclectic art collection. When not traveling, Alex and Gunnar love hosting backyard happy hours, grilling and enjoy sharing a nice outdoor fire with friends.
The day came when Gunnar proposed to Alex on March 17th, 2022, St. Patrick's Day. It was the most memorable night including the series of events that took place prior to Gunnar popping the question (too long of story, but we will be sure to share it soon). They ended the night by celebrating their engagement at the Masonic Temple with an amazing performance by Mitski .
