It was the summer of 2008, Alex's first semester at Florida State University, and Evan's last. Although both have photos at the same party with his fraternity, the two never crossed paths. They both pursued and earned the same degree in Criminology.

Fast forward to July of 2014. For those that do not know, Alex held a job as a Felony Correctional Probation Officer for The State of Florida at this time. Evan was working for the Melbourne Police Department in his current unit, Special Investigations. The two were introduced at the site of a mutual operation, where they spent time in the same vehicle (not alone, come on people). Alex claimed Evan was the first to flirt on the job, to which he pleaded guilty. Little did he know, his eventual sentence would be life with her.

It wasn't until November of 2015 that the two crossed paths outside of work. Evan asked Alex on a date, but she could not go due to a planned trip to Colorado. Evan told Alex that she had popped his balloon, but Alex told him she'd fix that, and promised him a date when she returned. Her first weekend back, Evan made plans to take her to an art festival, as by this time he knew of her love for art. When Evan arrived to pick Alex up, he knocked on her door holding a bouquet of flowers and one single un-popped red balloon in hand. The rest is history.

The photo above was taken right after Evan popped the question. There was not a soul around on the beautiful beaches of Little Talbot Island, which made for a special moment between the two of them.
