Alex POV

It was a bright sunny day in May of 2020. I pulled my blue beetle into the parking lot of (none other than) NICKS BBQ! I had picked up a shift for extra money. I walked in and there he was, standing across from me at the salad bar. He had hair almost as long as mine, needed a good shave and maybe a shower. But, he smiled bigger than anyone I had ever seen and laughed effortlessly. I asked him what his name was and he shrugged his shoulders. What a way to get a girl! Once I realized he was not going to introduce himself, I said “well alright” and walked away. He jogged towards me and said “It’s Paxton!!”. Of course I turned around and said “well now I don’t care” and smiled. We both laughed. I would never thought that I was meeting my future husband, but I am so thankful for that shift at Nicks that I happened to pick up. Im so thankful that he came home from college and chose to work at his high school job for the summer because he had nothing better to do. I am so thankful for serendipity. It was meant to be! We spent the summer together, staying up late, going on drives or to the lake. My favorite summer of all time and one I will cherish the rest of my life. And the rest is history!
