WEDDING AND RECEPTION VENUE:
Dromoland Castle
FLIGHTS:
We have tried to calculate the average cost of flights from various departure cities in the US (where our family is mainly located) to Dublin airport during and around the month of August; however, Shannon airport is another option that is closer to the castle.
Most round trip tickets (on average) range in price from $400-$1,000, depending on how late you book and in what cabin.
In the past, we have found great luck using the site Going.com. You do have to pay a membership fee, but they also offer a free trial.
Warning: it is INSANE the deals you can get on Going.com, and you might find yourself doing a TON of travel because the deals are hard to resist. Don't say we didn't warn you...
WHERE TO STAY:
The most convenient place to stay would be at Dromoland Castle. They have reserved a block of rooms for the wedding, so when you call or email, please tell them you are booking for the Dunford Wright wedding. You will then get 20% off all the room rates. You will not get this rate, however, if you book online. You can call +353 61 368144 or email reservations@dromoland.ie
The Inn at Dromoland is less expensive and is just down the road. There is a one way shuttle that will take guests from the Castle to the Inn the night of the wedding. They are also holding a block of rooms for us at a discounted rate.
You can phone +353 61 368161 or email reservations@theinnatdromoland.ie and quote the group reference number (363578) or mention Alex, Landon, or the Dunford Wright wedding.
Treacys Oakwood Hotel is giving a discount to our guests at the following rate:
€189.00 Single Bed and Breakfast
€209.00 Double Bed and Breakfast
€229.00 Triple Bed and Breakfast
To reserve, email: brian@thshannon.com and quote reference number 217092
The Carriage Houses offers a 10% discount to those staying two nights or more. Book on their website.
Here is a list of other options that are near Dromoland. This certainly isn't an exhaustive list; it doesn't include the numerous Vrbo and AirBnB options in Shannon and Limerick.

From Limerick you can take the bus (detailed below), or a taxi or ride share.
