Our Wedding

Alex and Sana’s story is truly one of a kind, and if you’ve ever doubted the power of fate, these two might just change your mind. It all started on Discord, a communication app where users can create communities and connect with people who share similar interests. Alex and Sana were both part of a large community with some mutual friends. One day, the topic of timezones came up, and Alex asked Sana for hers. To their surprise, they were in the exact same timezone. This sparked a conversation, and soon Alex asked where Sana was from. Her response? A simple potato emoji. Little did they know, those little pixels would lead to a wedding. For those who might not know, Idaho is famous for its potatoes. Both Alex and Sana were living there at the time, and this commonality opened a window for them to learn more about each other. From there, the connection grew, and the rest, as they say, is history. Eventually, Alex gathered the courage to ask Sana to be their girlfriend. To Alex’s surprise, Sana agreed. Those who know Sana can attest that she wasn’t the type to rush into romance—she was always a bit closed off when it came to relationships. But somehow, Alex managed to break through that tough shell, and thank goodness they did. They quickly bonded over mutual experiences and shared interests. After a year and a half of dating, Alex mustered the courage to ask Sana to move in together. Again, to Alex’s surprise, Sana agreed. They spent a few months in a small studio apartment in Boise, Idaho, before upgrading to a larger place in Meridian. By their second anniversary in October 2023, Alex knew they wanted to spend the rest of their life with Sana. Alex waited for the perfect moment to buy a ring, and on March 8th, 2024, they proposed on the Oregon Coast while watching the sunset together. And, once again, Sana said yes. Their love story began in a group chat of over 1,000 people, yet somehow, they found their way to each other. Together, they’ve navigated the challenges of long-distance, found strength and pride in their same-sex relationship in a sometimes-scary world, and created a happiness that continues to grow every day. They’re excited for their well-deserved happy ending, and they can’t wait for all of you to be a part of it.
